ALA’s Office for Diversity, Literacy and Outreach Services (ODLOS) curated this list for conference attendees who may be interested in sessions targeting equity, diversity and inclusion (EDI). The sessions are grouped by session type with definitions to guide attendees through the selections. Please note that this information was curated by ODLOS specifically, there may be some flexibility in each session’s categorization and/or level of understanding.

Coretta Scott King Book Awards Committee - Executive Board Meeting

The CSK Executive Board oversees the election and appointments of the Coretta Scott King Book Awards and Virginia Hamilton Award for Lifetime Achievement Juries, standing committees, and CSK activities throughout the years. Coretta Scott King (CSK) Book Awards Committee is a committee of the Ethnic & Multicultural Information Exchange Round Table. 

GLBTRT Executive Board Meeting

This is one of two biannual in-person business meeting for the GLBTRT comprised of discussion and voting on new directions, feedback for/from ALA leadership, governance changes and financial standings information. Coretta Scott King Book Awards Committee - General Membership Meeting

The CSK Book Awards Community is part of the ALA Ethnic and Multicultural Information Exchange Round Table (EMIERT). This meeting is intended for those with an interest in the Coretta Scott King Book Awards. The Awards are given annually to outstanding African American authors and illustrators of books for children and young adults which demonstrate an appreciation of African American culture and universal human values. The award commemorates the life and work of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., and honors his wife, Mrs. Coretta Scot King, for her courage and determination to continue the work for peace and world brotherhood.
