Tomi Adeyemi

Tomi Adeyemi is a Nigerian-American writer and creative writing coach based in San Diego. After graduating Harvard University with an honors degree in English literature, Adeyemi received a fellowship that allowed her to study West African mythology and culture in Salvador, Brazil.

Adeyemi's debut novel, Children of Blood and Bone, a West African/Young Adult Fantasy project, is a New York Times bestseller and was selected as a finalist for the 2019 William C. Morris YA Debut Award. The novel is also currently in movie development at Fox 2000/Temple Hill Productions.

When she’s not writing or watching Scandal, Adeyemi can be found blogging and teaching creative writing to the 4,500 subscribers of her website TomiAdeyemi.com, named one of the "101 Best Websites for Writers" by Writer’s Digest.
